Christmas!

A flip video camera, a couple of jumpsuits, a card game, a hand-knitted neck warmer.
We filmed our "Thulson Christmas Minute," and traced some geese. We leave on the train tonight.
Here is our puppy:

At home (in six days!) I will spend time with young ones and old ones.
Here it is cold. If I were homeless, I would instead have this sleeping bag.

I'm missing the ability to crochet, a Marlene Reidel poster, and sandals

Slow day

"Moonlight is sculpture." —Nathaniel Hawthorne

I work in my college's library, and sometimes when there's not much to do I slip into the stacks and read Mary Oliver poems or chapters of Jane Austen. Today I loved Mary's poem. The spirit "needs/ the metaphor of the body."

We have a lot of snow here, and everywhere looks different now. There's white, and ice, and broken tree branches. Lace is pretty in the snow.
In just a few more days I will be flying home to Denver for the holidays.

Snow

Sitting in a dark room, looking out at the snow falling.

Via my mom:
"...for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs." -George Eliot, Middlemarch

Tie-Dye

Shabd's clothes are so expensive but so remarkable. I would enjoy a sky-skirt.

Shoes

I love photos that show the tips of the photographer's shoes.

Cute

I've spent hours today trying to find somewhere to purchase one of these posters by Marlene Reidel. She also illustrated lots of children's books in the '70s.

Tomorrow I'll have granola and yogurt.

Side buns and a long coat

I love this woman's hair.

The Passion

Today I wish I had a long sleeved dress.

I'm reading this book:

It's about passion and stories.

Tub

I love Maira Kalman's newest blog entry and tomato red tights:

When I have my own home I will sit in the bathtub fully dressed, reading.

To start with

I love this quote by E.B. White:

"I arise in the morning torn between a desire to save the world and a desire to savor the world."

and the phenakistoscope.
